Ever After

Three years ago my journey began
Chasing down this cure, no plan in hand
Just your pulse, my racing guide in the dark
Just knowing with conviction from the start

The moment your eyes made an introduction
I felt my second violent breath of life
Flawless to the point of being godly
Yet I fell hard for your imperfections

And now we’re slightly weathered, we’re slightly worn
Our hands grip together eye to eye through the storm yet
I still believe in ever after with you, yeah
Coz life is a pleasure with you by my side
And there ain’t no current in this river we can’t ride
I still believe in ever after with you

Nothing compares to the good times
Feels like we’re floating when the rest have to climb
You made me believe in love and not the perfect kind
A real messy beautiful twisted sunshine
Emotions volcanic eruptions
We both still care so we’re still alive
Tunnel vision, determination
I want you I want to make it right

You are my twisted sunshine
You are my twisted sunshine
...

Awkwardness

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I’m sure all of us have experienced moments when we would wish that we can just disappear instantaneously instead of having to watch ‘inappropriate’ instances uneasily.

In short, don’t you ever wish you don’t have to experience AWKWARD MOMENTS???

Here are some (of the millions) I consider under this category:

~ When someone keeps on talking w/ wrong grammar… AND with confidence! (“1 plus 1 is equals to”, “we will be going to discuss about…”, “…and that is what we called the photosynthesis”, etc)

~ When you are watching personalities make a fool of himself/herself (Christian Bautista/Rico Yan (RIP) dancing)

~ When you are in a mall and someone asks you directions, shoe sizes, etc; mistaking you for sales lady/clerk.

~ When an important person (like a big boss) is delivering a joke that is stomach-achingly-not-so-funny.

~ When a saliva drop dives out of your mouth while you are talking to someone. You both know it happened but you both pretend you did not see it.

~ When you are eating in a food court/restaurant and you have to share a table with a stranger.

~ When you come across an old acquaintance and you have nothing to talk about.

Mis-

I’m tired of explaining my self.

My actions continue to be misunderstood, misinterpreted, or misjudged. It’s just way too tiring when you’d have to explain yourself over and over again. It’s thesis defense all over again. I don’t want to prove anything; I just want to live life.

I feel like I am obliged to explain and apologize when deep inside me, I do not know what to apologize for.
You 1: I do not owe you an explanation. It's not like we're friends and all.
You 2: I have always been open with everything. No secrets or hidden agendas.
You 3: I can explain for you but do you listen?
You 4: I can reason out once or twice or even thrice if needed, but more than that, I just feel like a fool.

Do I really owe everyone an explanation?
I just feel tired - tired - tired.

The Fulfilled Jolalay

Our company held a beauty pageant for the guys (yes, for the guys, not the gays) last Friday. It was weeks of preparation and all and being one of the PA’s, it was 20% stressful and 80% fun. But let me tell you, it was all worth it!

Of course we won - no competition! The other candidates looked like guys dressed in gowns but our candidate looked like a goddess. It was though you were looking at a true celebrity.

According to the judges, if the awards had not been required to be distributed to all the candidates, our candidate would have gotten it all! We got the actual scores, and truly...we did bagged all the awards... best in long gown, sports attire, talent. Hehehe.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Anyway, as much as I wanna show you how he really looked like, I can’t. We need to secure his anonymity. Hehehe.

Katrina

My reaction to hurricane Katrina…

Jokingly, I would say:
Ang lakas talaga ng dating ng mga
Katrina!!!

Seriously, I would say (well more on question in confusion):

How the heck is it possible that the US government is encountering LACK OF FUNDS for the relief operations??!?!

Why is the US having scarcity of military men and police to organize the evacuation sites’ safety and orderliness? I saw from Today show that people have been looting each other’s houses/shops, just to get supplies of food and other necessities. There aren’t any policemen or military men around. I also watched a victim express his anger and pain in seeing that the funds and military people that should have been helping them are not available... because of some unnecessary war that their government has prioritized.

Why is the Philippines sending batches of Filipino doctors/nurses/aids to help when we lack those here in the first place? (Sino pa’ng matitira dito? Babalik pa ba sila dito kung nandun na sila sa US?)

Why is it possible that this Filipino organization is able to donate US$25,000 in one snap of a finger when I haven’t even heard them have that much for Philippine-related calamities? (Sorry but I can’t help but compare)

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
No, I am not saying don't help them, I am saying, please be realistic when helping.
And please continue praying for everyone.

Literal Dreams

This is 80% of the reason why I am late for office.

I always dream of picking what to wear to office, rushing to office, getting stuck in traffic... only to realize that I have been sleeping too long and dreaming of something I should have been doing so many minutes ago!

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Although this past week I have been dreaming of weird things like one of my teammates giving birth right on her workspace, or another officemate I met in Chicago went here and got mobbed inside the taxi... well, they are not so ordinary dreams, but still office related... errrghh!!!

I Am 24 Years Old

Image hosted by Photobucket.comYep, I was born on the year 1980, which makes me 24 years old (going 25 this November).
However, I don’t think I act entirely my age.

Friendship: I am 20 years old. I tend to get along well with people who are at least 2 years younger than me. Maybe because I am young at heart. Hehehe.
Love: I am 33 years old. I think about relationships as serious, long-term, stable and is always future oriented.
Finance:
I am 20 years old. They say the standard you should set is that your salary should always always be greater than your age. I need to work on this one.
Work:
I am 21 years old. Somehow I feel that I can do more than what I do now.
Adventure: I am 10 years old. I am not at all adventurous. I am not for risky sports. I hate parlor games. I am afraid of heights. I want to go hiking but do not want to see leeches or stand at the edge of a cliff. I don't enjoy exploring directions and getting lost.
Travel: I am 9 years old. I have been lucky enough I was able to set foot on several places already and got to meet a lot of different cultures. Still, I want to travel more, more and more! I don’t think there’s something such as an “excessive traveler.”
Family: I am 28 years old. Some situations oblige me to act more than what is normal of my age, no big deal though. Maturity is always beneficial.
Body (yes, body! Meaning: physically speaking): I am 17 years old. I think my anatomy matures slower than usual. I still have a voice of an 8th grader. I still have those baby fat that goes away by themselves as time goes by. No matter what I do, I still can’t look at myself (physically) as a matured woman… yung dalaga talaga. Strangers still call me “ne” most of the time, I can still pass as a college student. Last year someone asked if I already graduated highschool. In short, baby faced ako!!! Hahahah (oh no! nasaniban na yata ako ni rigel).

How about you, how old are you now?

16%

Today, while strolling the mall, we saw a free bone scanning booth (courtesy of this high-calcium milk of course) and since we (me and paolo) needed to kill some time while waiting for the scheduled pickup of the car we left in the carwash; we decided to go try it out.

Several minutes of waiting in line, it was my turn. My right foot was put into the scanning machine, then a liquid was sprayed onto my ankles; then a plastic bubble with liquid in it bloated from the machine until it was able to hold my foot real tight... then the scanning began...a few seconds after, the machine monitor reflected the results and a tiny paper (similar to a grocery receipt) came out of it.

I saw the machine operator's expression changed from a relaxed smile into a confused one, he then asked one of his peers to check the scanning machine's result.

They had a quick discussion and double checked with me:
"You are just 24 yrs old right?" I said yes.
"Is that foot fractured or have been fractured?" I said no.
"Hmmm... okay let's try the left foot, uhm, no, let's just try the same foot."

So I put my right foot onto the scanner again. And a few moments later, both of them had that same confused look.
"Same results."

They then asked me to go sit by the desk where the doctors give you a free consultation. Turns out, I had a 16% fracture risk rate. An osteoporosis case.

I just learned that salty food block the calcium absorption of your body (as you know, I love salty food especially chips!). Same with high-caffeine stuff like coffee and tea (as you know, I prefer drinking hot/cold tea over coffee, but the caffeine content is the same).

Therefore, he told me I need to have at least 1000Mg of Calcium intake every day, either through capsules or (of course) by drinking their product. Need to take leafy vegetables, have sunlight in the morning, weight lifting exercises, soya, and dairy products.

On a positive note, we can still develop bone mass until about our 30's. I still have time.

~ that even though my favorite color is red, it doesn't mean i have to use it all the time (and thus is the change of blog template)

~ that eating what you want doesn't mean you need to eat til your stomach hurts (and thus is the birth of my stable diet plan)

~ that even though pink looks good on me, doesn't mean i need to wear it all the time (and thus i need to clean up my closet)

~ that a decreasing bank account doesn't mean you've lost those money

~ that the feeling of sharing is priceless (especially for your family)

~ that i hate my blog template (thus would need at least a day for me to contemplate what changes i like)

~ that it's still best to laugh about silly, stupid, totally nonsense stuff (and thus should lessen being intellectual sometimes)

Spontaneity

My mobile phone was scheduled to be traded in this month for something new, my qualifications were basically:
1. Something smaller
2. FM Radio
3. Colored
Just two days before its scheduled trade in, the phone got busted! Upon several different consultations, repair would cost me around 3 thousand pesos!

So what the heck, I’ll just buy a new phone and think about my finances later.

Went to several malls to compare for prices and then went straight to Greenhills to finally buy the unit. Just 10 minutes after, I found a stall that was willing to give me 3 thousand pesos for my broken phone. After hours and hours of comparing prices, found a separate stall for the new unit. Had to walk under the hot noontime sun just to withdraw money and go back again to actually buy it. It’s already 2:30 PM and still had no lunch (the sacrifices humankind do for these so called technologies! hehehe)

I chose Nokia 7260. Yes, it has all my qualifications and more. Above all, I love the unique art-deco style!!!
*
I am happy (and obsessed) with my new phone. Woohoo!!! :)

Cutting Scissors

I just had my hair cut – from waist length to shoulder length. That’s almost a foot of hair length gone!

After 2 minutes of discussing with the hairdresser the specifics of the hairstyle I want, the process began.
Immediately I saw at least 4 inches of bunches of hair falling to the floor.
I have never had a haircut that I didn’t feel like suing the salon as soon as I saw the final outcome (but of course, I didn’t sue, I just pay the bill and leave teary eyed; upon reaching home, I face the mirror and fix/trim my hair myself). Therefore, my mindset is always to expect the unexpected.

30 minutes and a few chit chats have passed; I still liked what I see on the mirror. So far, so good. Maybe for the first time in history I will leave the salon with a winning smile.

45 minutes and now the final touches are being done. A little trim here, a little trim there.
Then the hairdresser’s final words were: “ Uso to ngayon eh,” referring to my new hairstyle. I answered, “Talaga? Sino na ba may gantong buhok?” He (or she) answered: “Si Jennylyn Mercado.”
(For those of you who don’t know yet, I am one of the members of the Anti-Jennylyn Mercado movement. I have nothing against the ‘actress’ but I am just fond of bashing her having known some die hard fans who waste their time, energy, and money just to go stalk and worship her like she was someone perfect)

I almost laughed aloud but I managed to contain it into a sarcastic smile.

As history repeats itself, I paid the bill and left the salon, still confused whether it was a success or not.

An hour after, I noticed I didn’t like it anymore, I want it shorter. So I went straight to the salon nearby (a different one) and had it trimmed again.

What was the final outcome? Very ordinary, very me.

Panahon ng Tag-tamad

I just noticed I’ve been extra lazy lately.

Too lazy to write a new blog article.
Too lazy to update my blog template even if I don’t like it anymore.
Too lazy to go to gym (2 weeks and counting…).
Too lazy to wake up early in the morning.
Too lazy to buy me some new clothes (then everyday I would complain that I hate what I wear).
Too lazy to greet friends who have just celebrated their birthday.
Too lazy to organize my parent’s 28th anniversary.

Too lazy to even watch TV.

I seem to have lost something in me. Or maybe I just want to take it slow and be apathetic for sometime.

As Jim Carrey said on Liar Liar: “WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME?!?!”

ACG (All Conditions Gear)

Am nowhere near from being an all-condition type of person.

I like the summer season, because you always have a reason to go out of town and take a vacation and be worry free for a while. Though by the end of summer, my tanned skin still has not been able to recover back to its normal color. My swimming skills has not improved. And I pretty much am still afraid of snorkelling underwater. Nevertheless, I can always survive summer.

I have tried winter. This one I can survive in as well. Aside from the fact that you can be really fashionably beautiful wearing simple winter attires, it is also fun walking on 'fresh' fallen snow. I have forgetten the feeling of having sweat on my body for a few months. I did get a few sneezing every once in a while and had my nose bleed one time upon coming home to a 21 degree celcius room from a -20 degrees temp outside. But then again, winter is okay as well.
Then come the rainy days. Rainy days are probably my dreaded days. They make me sick - literally speaking. Sick with cold, cough and fever. The only good thing with rainy days for me is that a good night's sleep is guaranteed, but would also mean you'd have a harder time leaving your bed the next day. It would also mean sloppy streets and muddy shoes.

Somehow I do easily adapt to the change of season, but I always tend to welcome the new season with a fever.

Not enough vitamins... not enough life...

4 Days

4 days of (paid) relaxation... here i come!!!

Off to Bicol this evening and I pretty much don't expect anything but relaxation, food (fiesta!) and loads of woven bags (no pili nuts, I'm not fond of them). Wehehehe.

I've met their Butanding (whaleshark) already so we don't need to go meet up with it again. I've gone to several beaches already this summer, in fact my "tanned/nognog" skin hasn't recovered still, so no need to go to swimming as well.

Just to breathe the fresh breeze of the province is enough vacation for me :)

Every Morning

Every morning as I walk on the pavement outside our front door (on my way to work), I notice these flowers lined up along the pathway. They look really refreshing and gorgeous.

Then every night (after I’ve had a long work day), I walk on the same pathway and I don’t see any of those, not even one.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com

So the next day, before I went out, I took pictures on them. Then the day after that, I looked at them again, this time not passing around but consuming several precious early morning minutes admiring them, it was worth being late in office (and I don't mind).

500 Dollars

An unknown friendster person (who doesn't have a friend nor anything on his profile but Egypt as his location) left a message saying:

"hello do u want to have 500$ every month?"

I assumed that this is one of those earn-some-dollar-through-internet type of offers (which by the way are never true); and having learned from 'instructions for life' that if you find a question absurd or you don't want to answer it, just ask back "why do you want to know?" And so I did reply to him:

"why do you want to know?"

A day after, he responded:

"i can send to u 500$ at your address about western union every month but u should show me your body on your cam every day alsoso give me answer now are u agree?or u dont need this offer?"

I immediately clicked on Report User and checked profanity, abuse, etc. Hopefully he gets deleted on Friendster ASAP.

Today...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com .... IS NOT A HAPPY DAY... at all !!!
Not even close to an OK day.

I was supposed to be off work today but had to go to office just the same all because of bad management planning.

There is a transport strike and a threat of either a 1 peso fare increase or a 1 peso gasoline price hike. Talk about a no win situation.

Work is hell today. Haven't eaten lunch and have just got off my seat twice the whole day - once for hoarding cups of drinks to last me the whole day and another time to pee. What's worse is that I know work would even become more of a hell starting tomorrow.

I look like a lousy old maid with the clothes I have on now.

It is an official bad-hair-day day, and may I just point out that bad hair days happen very very rarely on my case.

I haven't had a good night's sleep last night. Just cried the whole night.

I am almost out of grip of my good financial planning skills.

Just a few minutes ago, a friend of mine told me that one of my choir conductresses from high school has already died.

I looked at my pictures from the company beach outing last weekend and I still look terribly curvacious... on the wrong places!

I can't seem to find a real 'friend' to cry on today (in my case, whine on).

I simply have no reason to smile today. Period.

This is one of those days when I don't really care if I wake up tomorrow or not.

Though I don't work for the Government; wait, technically, all of us do because we work our hearts out just so we can give the government some money (a.k.a taxes), anyway, so what I meant was, I am not a government office employee... once again...

Though I am not a government office employee, I too am privileged (?) to have 4 official working days for April. For the whole April, my work days will be Tuesdays to Fridays. I've had so many overtime hours on December to February that I chose not to declare those 'OT' hours for some minimal transportion and/or meal allowance, but took the offset policy instead. That way I am paid by 'not' being in the office. Hehehehe.

Therefore get paid being a couch potato at home, get paid for trying to catch up on missed tv shows (CSI, AI, etc), or get paid by leisurely shopping in an uncrowded mall during a Monday, or just the mere luxury of getting paid while sleeping your whole Monday morning off...

So far I still have around 30 more hours of offsettable work time (and very very slowly, the OT hours continue to increment).
I might get to extend my 4-day workweek until May. Mwehehehehe.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Now the problem is that I tend to get too 'vacation' minded with this set-up, what more for the government employees!

Dream

Lesley’s blog about Oprah’s Wildest Dreams Come True episode made me think about what mine is…

As of today 04/01/2005 6:42 PM, my dream would be:

To sip coffee (outside a cute little coffeehouse) along the streets of Paris, wearing a black trench coat and a knee-high boots (yes, specific talaga ako mangarap, up to the color of what I am wearing!). It should be a bright morning, during springtime or autumn, as long as it’s cold enough to justify my black trench coat and the hot coffee. Then I should also have a really good book at hand while doing that, not the novel type, some easy reading books or maybe a tourist guide’s book to Paris. I'd be watching the people walk by and listen to other's conversations (which would probably not make sense since they'll be talking their language).

Of course, what’s the purpose of Paris if you are alone huh? I want to go with Paolo or Johnny Depp; whichever comes there first. Hehehehe.

So, what’s your so called “wildest dream?”

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ Ang sarap mangarap… nakakagutom.

Here and There

Travel, travel, and more travel...
If I had been born rich, I could have been traveling places as many times as I can afford each year.

A friend of mine has been inviting me to go on Asia tours this summer, and how can I not be attracted to a Php900 flight going to Malaysia?! Or a $9.98 flight (c/o tigerairlines) to Hongkong, Singapore, Bali, etc?! Unbelievably, IT IS TRUE! This new airline has just opened in Clark, Subic and of course, they need to attract passengers... w
ell, congratulations to them for I am really mesmerized with their rates!!!

I wanna go but I still need to keep on wishing for my bank account to afford me!

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ Some more planning and I might actually be going on a plane ride soon...

Buhay Linggo

This is our new pet...uhm, no name yet. Let's call her Kuting for now. She has 3 other siblings but somehow she's the only one left on our front yard, even her mom abandoned her. Waaahh, nakakaiyak naman. :(

Anyway, cute cute cute niya. Antuking matakaw. It loves to be indoors.

I hope she's still cute when she grows up.
Uhm, that's all, just wanted to share the cat.

I hope tomorrow I can do that too... buhay linggo... ho-hum

Trying (hard) to be Athletic

My athletic credentials:
1. Have been a volleyball player both my elementary and high school days

uhm... that’s pretty much all of it.

Lately I go to the gym at least twice a week, which also includes two taebo/dance aerobics classes weekly. But with the desperation to lose weight and an attempt to challenge myself to be as "slim" as possible, I decided to give the word 'SPORTS' a chance.

With this in mind, all these happened between Saturday and Sunday:

~ I played badminton – this one I can say I may have an edge with. I sort of know how to smash already, so to speak.

~ I jogged – I still need to figure out how to pull out my endurance. I can run as much as 3 KM in a treadmill but can’t quite stand running 15 mins straight on “real ground.”

~ I started playing basketball – I did not expect I would enjoy dribbling and shooting (haven’t tried playing the game itself). Although my shooting level is the same as those 7 year old neighbors I played shooting with (from which I lost), I still enjoy shooting the ball (don’t get me wrong, I still hate the song “i-shoot mo, i-shoot mo i-shoot mo na ang ball…”)

~ I played tennis – my father has won so many tennis competitions but none among us siblings know how to play it. As a beginner, I played one on one with the tennis wall: guess what, I lost! Tennis is still more enjoyable playing in a real court with someone your level.

Tara! Laro tayo!

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
I could have included "biking" on my list kaso di ako pinahiram nung bata ng bike niya...

Tssssssssssssssssssss........

I have been waiting for summer to come and now, yes, just now, I can declare it...
IT IS OFFICIALLY SUMMER!!!

Why do I say that? Here are a few signs:

a. HUMID! It'ssss soooooooooooooooo huuuuuuuummmmmmiiiiiiiiiid!!! I feel like I have never taken a bath for a month! Reminds me that our summer implies at least one bath a day.

b. We're buying new electric fan - AGAIN! Reminded me that yes, summer means each person may need his/her own fan to cool his head off.

c. Everyone seems to be hot headed. Everyone gets easily irritated by stuff that on 'normal' circumstances would just be a 'normal' conversation. Reminds me that on hot, hot weather, it's not too easy to stay ahem, "cool."

d. Beach! I am going to Boracay next week. Nice way to start the season. :)

e. More outings! I keep on receiving more text messages on plans for the summah outings... Ilocos and/or Galera with my college barkada, some more beaches with my high school friends, a plan on going to the Pahiyas Festival with some more friends, and to add up the family outings.

f. It's almost 6 PM and the mighty sun is still there, hitting me smack on the face.

I can list down so much more about the symptons of summer, but right now, I just need a bath! A really cool, lonnng one. Aaaahhhhhhhhhh...

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Smile with the sun everyone! :)

Mr. Cab Driver

On my 20-minute Makati to Commonwealth avenue cab ride last night, I met the world's most talkative driver.

So I wanted to quote him for his thoughts:

On his studies: "Sa Lasalle taft ako dati, Accounting ang course ko.

On his advices: "Pinapayuhan kita dahil para na kitang kapatid, like friends... like sisters, di ba?"

I got off the cab on our subdivision gate and just took a walk to our house. I didn't want him to see where I live, you know, baka isipin niya eh friends talaga kami... "like friends, like sisters..."

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Pero naprove ko na "like friends, like sisters..." ang tingin niya saken, humingi ako ng discount at pumayag naman, di nako pinagbayad ng butal. I saved 2.50 pesos. Haha.
But still, I hope I won't meet him again.

Anticipation

For the past weeks of hectic work days, my only stress-reliever was to anticipate the surprise birthday celebration I was attempting to organize for Paolo.

I will be working at least 10 hours a day - without having the liberty to leave my desk even during lunchtime - and then work another 8 hours during weekends as well. In between those hectic hours, I would try to surf for the perfect venue for the suprise, look for friends who are willing to help, or try to research how to contact his friends without having to ask his help. It came to a point to a point that I felt more stress with this attempt but was well worth it anyway. Some friends we're willing to help (thanks to all of you, by the way!) and that made it a lot easier. After 300 pesos worth of cellphone load for "text brigading", some hours spent messaging his friendsters, some more hours chatting with his friends who were helping me (Laya and Nap, thanks again) and an almost unending wait for his vacation leave to get approved, the so called party finally happened.

I reserved the place for 15 people (basing from those who confirmed, I was expecting about 8 people) at 7 PM. At around past 8 I finally got into the place and found around 8 people there, just enought to satisfy my expectations, so I said, I can call over the celebrant and get this thing going. Paolo came and he didn't look surprised at all, more of confused. Hehe. Maybe because his body clock has been so messed up lately (having to work night shift one week, then the next during normal hours, etc). Anyway, dinner came and so did some more guests. All in all, more than 15 people came to celebrate with us, and I was really really pleased with that (Thanks again!). The tsikahan did not take rest for even a minute, you can hardly hear the background music because of people talking (mostly from Rigel) and Pay's laughter. Hehe.

It was really very gratifying to see my friends, Paolo's friends, his officemates, my relatives, his relatives, all in one room. :)

It makes me want to organize and think of more excuses to have them all together again.
I know I should have organized some games, or program, or as some has requested - videoke, as part of the party but I didn't. I should have gotten party hats, or balloons, but didn't. Well, I was just hoping people will come join us for dinner full of chit chat with friends anyway.

That's exactly what happenned, a night full of laughter, meeting new - old friends, beer or iced tea, and a lot of stories to tell.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Thanks again to those who came, and expect that those kinds of gatherings will happen again... videoke perhaps?

I will post the pictures as soon as I find my missing usb cable.

Inhale - Exhale

Hey, just wanted to inform you that YES, I am still alive and breathing.
I've had a very hectic past weeks but have survived it (and am still expecting some more hectic weeks to come).

Nevertheless, I have something to look forward to: SUMMER OUTING!

I'd like to go somewhere considerably far from the Metro to kick off my summer. Three beautiful, fun-filled, stress-free days would be fine in equivalence for the 300++ (oftenly stressful) routinary days.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
We're planning to go to Boracay before the peak season starts.
Wanna come? :)

Helium Balloon

WHATADAY!!!

Yes, it's almost 1 AM and I am just about to go home after more than 16 hours of working today!

Helium Balloon, that's how I feel right now. I've done OT work before (seldom though) but this has got to be my record (can't wait to offset my millions of OT hours... instant vacation leave for me! woopeee!) Wait, let's go back to the topic... helium balloon... ah...yes.. i feel like that, a floating balloon. When I walk I almost don't feel the floor anymore. I feel like a drugged specie. Eyes wide open but brains are not responding. I feel bloated and at the same time feel hungry as well.

It feels odd to walk alone on corridors, go to the wash room alone, ride the elevator alone; it's an eerie feeling but as I said, I am too 'bangenge' to even feel anything. I haven't combed my hair since I came in office today but I don't really care, I'll just avoid looking at any of my reflections until I get home. I am listening to Richard Marx right now and I don't necessarily like it but I don't really care enought to make me change it.

I have never been fond of being a night owl. I am a morning person. I'd rather wake up earlier than usual than have to miss my regular bed time (10:30 PM).

Ahhh. float float float....

ZZzZzZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
I don't really blame work for this because I guess everyone would go through these types of pressure one time or another. At least for me this pressure OT's are rare (and planned) occurences.

Phase 2

This is a term my thesis mates and I formulated a few years back. It’s basically the time when you feel you are faced with oh-too-much tasks at your hand that you have no idea how, where, and what task you should do first.

It’s when you feel YOU ARE OFFICIALLY STRESSED OUT! At times like these…what do you do???

You perform PHASE 2.

Phase 2 is to stop with ALL the task you’re doing and basically start having a break by doing something else that required no pressure. It’s usually cleaning up all the mess in your room, eat your “happy food”, or just the mere feeling of staring at a nice view with an idle face. What’s important with doing Phase 2 is to have a schedule. Of course, Phase 2 is just a phase…just a break from all the stress, therefore, must not take too much of your time.

After performing Phase 2, you will have a clearer mind, your heart will now be beating the normal beats per minute, and your tasks will automatically fall in line… in order of priority, and you will have fresh new start.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
That’s what I am doing now, Phase 2.
I have been doing OT work for the whole week, and tonight, Friday... end of week is the mother OT of all OT! Aside from the fact that I still have to work on weekend.

I AM OFFICIALLY WINDANG!

An Odd Realization

I'd like you to meet my crushes from the past:

Gradeschool: No one in specific.

Highschool:

“Mr. Sacristan” – Used to be a sacristan on our school church mass. He’s 2 yrs younger than me
and I still have his library card.
He is now gay and far more beautiful than me.

College:

“Dolphin” – Used to be a silent type guy who’s a friend of a friend.
He is also now very gay.
“Blacky” - Used to be blacky for being able to look good in black long sleeve polo shirts even
during summer! Someone who used to borrow a pen.
Yes, he is also allegedly (Note: allegedly!) gay… and famous at that.
“Papa Ponkan” – Used to be a nameless classmate on one of my subjects.
No, not gay, but definitely a gay magnet.

Of Earth and Football

Of earth and football: this is how I can describe my whole weekend.

I spent 90% of my Saturday and Sunday pretending to be a Landscape Architect for our own “garden”. I have the landscaping concept on paper but the details are all in my mind.
Together with 4 other people, we cleared out the whole front yard, we took off the old pathway bricks, went out to buy new ones then laid it off one by one, we then scrubbed the old bricks for recycling. Bought some blue grass and some more flowering plants then continued leveling the yard. We’re still not completed with the landscaping, though we made a lot of progress in two days. Hopefully I can show you the before and after pictures when we’re done.

The other 10% of the weekend I spent watching the football playoffs (Why? Because that was what my boyfriend was doing and I’ve come to understand the sport because of him. I only know 2 Filipinos who are football fans: my boyfriend and his brother).

So today, I am in office, still jam-packed with tasks and is expecting to spend a lot of over time hours for the next weeks.

Though all my body muscles are aching due to the physically stressful weekend, I am still looking forward to another weekend of completing this landscaping attempt.

Time Bank

A friend once told me about the concept of the TIME BANK. It's where people deposit their free time and withdraw from it anytime they need it.
I wish I had one.

Last night I had to be in two places at the same time. I was in an important dinner and halfway through that dinner I was on the phone to attend to an also very important conference call meeting for work. I guess my boyfriend needed as much time withdrawn from his "time bank" since he had to take me to the bus station to get me the ride home (and I was still on the phone until exactly the time I was getting off the bus); at the same time he had to get heading to work that night too. It was his bestfriend's dinner treat, we unintentionally looked like an "eat and run" couple. :(

My every weekend seems to always go by - too fast. There's so much I wanna do during these days, and there's never an enough time.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Maybe I am getting old, maybe I think I don't make the most out of my time.Or maybe there really isn't ENOUGH TIME that can exist. How do you know you've spent your time perfectly well anyway???

Ano ang LSS mo today?

"i-shoot mo, i-shoot mo
i-shoot mo na ang ball
i-shoot mo na ang ball
ang sarap magbasketball..."

Aaaarggghh!! The torture...
I just hate this song! This just made my hell day.

I got stuck on MRT for one hour (causing me to be 1.5 hrs late for work!), then the first thing i hear after getting off the train was this "song?!?"

I hate hearing the song and I hate watching the video even more!

I swear, if I had the body like those Viva "hotbabes," i wouldn't have to sing these kinds of songs just to earn me some money!

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Aarggh, the song is too sticky... once you hear it, it would take so much effort to get your subconscious to stop singing it.

AAAAaaarrggghhh!!!
have you heard it?
have you seen the video???

She is Gerbera

Many often see her, but only a few know her name.

Let me introduce you to Gerbera. Her full name is Gerbera Jamesonii. She is very simple, selling from 50 - 150 Philippine Pesos, is odorless, comes in a variety of colors, has a long green stem, and is often mistaken as Daisy, who happens to be her cousin. Her basic necessities are warmth and bright light; and needs to be always kept clean.

Zodiac: Associated with the star sign Leo
History: Little-known 20 years ago, but now extremely popular and fashionable. Gerbera were first imported to Europe in the 19th century.

You can know her better by visiting these pages:

January 1 Has Passed... Again

January 1 has passed...again...ang bilis.

So whatever happened to my January 1?

It was our first new year on our new house (we moved on October after 18 years!). It has been 1986 since we last moved, I was only 6 then. Though we were in a new house, our new year traditions are still the same:
coins lined up from outside going in
round fruits on the table
rice, salt, bread are there
went to mass at 10 PM
ate at around 11:30 PM - spaghetti, macaroni salad, ham, queso de bola, etc (the usual)
and as always, we didn't have any firecrackers nor fireworks with us. We get contented watching neighbor's displays. Hehehehe.

We had new neighbors (one gave my sister one piece of 'lusis' - naawa siguro kasi nakikinood lang kami), then we went up the terrace to get a better view of the horizon's spectacles. It was great, I got a little dizzy trying to see everything around us, there were fireworks on all directions (all from neighbors and neighboring subdivisions still). Libre na, masaya pa! Hahaha.

Come morning, contrary of what I expected, I had a perfectly good sleep, so I had a very good morning indeed. After breakfast, I spent the whole day being a couch potato and watched the CSI marathon on AXN. Come 6 PM, we had to get dressed up to go to our uncle's house for dinner. I didn't wanna come (since this uncle of mine is the only relative I had word wars with for trying to defend my parents more than a year ago, in short, galit kami sa isa't isa kasi nakahanap siya ng katapat saken), but had to go since this is one of those "family obligations" and considering that all my siblings and parents have been going there often lately. So I went just the same... for the sake of "respect." I didn't enjoy the visit at all, good thing they had SIMS installed on their PC, so I consumed the night away playing.

Then I ended my January 1 having an arguement with my a loved one. Then slept my distress away. Great way to end the start of the year eh?

So today is January 2 again. An ordinary day. Tomorrow will just be another office week.
