Junk Food ~ Happiness

Pringles (red): Yung original flavor. This has got to be my first love. Some of my lonely winter nights when I was assigned in Chicago were spent just eating a whole Pringles canister for dinner while watching weather news on TV. It is best with any drink – water, juice, coke, beer, name it! Too bad though, this stuff doesn’t taste the same anymore; well at least the ones found here in Manila.

Oishi (original flavor): When I feel like munching something very light, not so salty… and CHEAP, then this is the way to go! It tasted the same since the 1980s and that’s what makes it exceptional for me.

Chippy (red): Perfect with cold (not ice cold) coke or pepsi. This was my favorite merienda a couple of years back from my previous office. At exactly 3:30 PM, we’d all take a break, buy some food from 7-11 or ministop and Chippy red is a default item to buy.

Tortillos (red): Perfect with cold water. Yeah, this stuff is what salty is all about. Betsin kung betsin! So I always make it a point that I have gallons of water to drink on the side.

Vcut: perfect with a cold Chocolait drink. I got addicted to this combination way back when I was in 5th grade. I remember having to eat this right after school EVERYDAY!

Life, Death and Life Again

I haven’t been able to catch up with Heroes and Ugly Betty Season 2 and here I am getting myself all hooked up with another series called Pushing Daisies. he series is about a man Ned, who has the power to bring the dead back to life just by his touch – but only for a minute. After one minute, someone else must die in exchange. To complicate it further, touching the ones he saved for the 2nd time will mean death for them - forever.

Ned is now in his late 20s and a very good pie maker who owns a restaurant named “The Pie Hole.” How could he not make good pies when his touch means ripening a rotten fruit? His ‘powers’ was later on discovered by a private investigator that persuaded him to use this for solving murder cases. They were succeeding with this tactic until Ned had to revive a murdered girl named Charlotte Charles (aka Chuck). Ned last saw Chuck decades ago. She was his first (and only) kiss way back when they were 10. He’s always dreamed of her ever since.

It gets even more interesting when Ned decided he couldn’t let Chuck die again. They fell in love and decided to live together but never to touch each other.

What a weird, twisted, but sweet plot huh?

A FEW Reasons I Love UP D

Greenery and nature! Acacia trees, fire trees, golden showers, carabao grass, water lilies, butterflies, fireflies, etc etc etc.

You can have your first class at 7-8:30 AM and your second class at 4-6:00PM. In between those, SM north is just 10 minutes away. Chocolate kiss, Sarah’s, etc are even closer.

Toki! It takes some patience but it does come.

Isaw and fishballs. Anytime!

No dress code. You can wear your pajamas to school and no one will care.

Mang Jimmy’s! This is what gluttony is all about.

Chocolate Kiss. Cozy, yummy and affordable. (Ang sarap lahat eh!!!)

Tambayan.

Sunflowers during summer.

Sunken garden.

Aristocarts.

“’te bili…” – Mga batang nagtitinda ng ‘pampony.’ Anytime you have a bad hair day, they’re always there to save the day.

Cool professors. Talk about diversity! You either love them or hate them, nothing in between.

AS steps.

STS subject – where you can either have your classmate sign the attendance for you or actually attend the class and sleep your way through.

You get a taste of what the real world is all about.

You are aware that your grades won’t really matter in the end.

Lagoon – where you can spend your vacant hours picnicking with the mosquitoes alongside the water lilies.

Sarah’s.

Beach House. Barbeque, fresh air, dirty ice cream, salted egg, and some fallen dried leaves on your plate. Sarap!!!

It is always photo-op ready.

You’ll get to discover your real self and still belong regardless of who you are.

Pila. It’s an unwritten/unspoken rule, and it makes everything else more worthwhile.
