Beautiful Days

I see beautiful days with you
I feel beautiful ways of loving you
You touched my heart so deeply
And I can't thank God enough for all the
Beautiful days with you
I feel beautiful ways of loving you
Everyday is just so wonderful
Every little thing is just so beautiful
When I spend it with you

You come along in an unexpected time
It was so divine
Knowing you are mine
It feels so right when
I look into your eyes
I never knew that love could make me feel this way
I can't wait for the day when i can truly say...
I see beautiful days with you

I feel beautiful ways of loving you
You touched my heart so deeply
And I can't thank God enough for all the
Beautiful days with you
I feel beautiful ways of loving you
Everyday is just so wonderful
Every little thing is just so beautiful
When I spend it with you

I've sung so many songs in stages
With thousands of them watching me
But you're here with me now
And I sing this song to you

To you baby....Just for you....Just for you...

I see beautiful days with you
I feel beautiful ways of loving you
You touched my heart so deeply
And I can't thank God enough for all the
Beautiful days with you
I feel beautiful ways of loving you
Everyday is just so wonderful
Every little thing is just so beautiful
When I spend it with you

All I Want for Christmas is You

I don’t need a lot for Christmas
There ARE just A FEW things I need
I DO care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU…

1. Jansport Black (Medium. Been looking for this for several years already)

2. Silver Triquetra Pendant (Charmed...I am human and I need to be loved)

3. White Clock-Radio-CD Player (Para sa room ko)

4. Red Flashdrive (512 MB is enough... right?)

5. Nina CD (I think my aunt will give me this one as a late bday gift)

6. Red Tankini (Christmas is here, therefore summer is just around the corner)

What happened in November... stays in November (not)!

What happened in November... stays in November (yeah right)!

Some drama scenes I thought would only happen in TV has happened to me... and it was not pretty!

I had to realize there really are CRAZY people in the world and as much as you have been such an Angel your whole life, sometimes, even if you don't deserve it... you end up being their victim. When this happens, internalize that you should always keep the lessons learned out of any situation: may it be good or bad. Then move on with your smile.

Just when you think you are walking on meadows, you bump into shit. And then again, what do you do? Clean up that shit, and then continue walking (well maybe you can swear once or twice about your misfortune, before continuing with you walk, that’s okay too). Anyhow, don't forget to "take time to smell the flowers" along the way. It will make you feel better.

Never forget that imperfections make people invaluable.

That when a gem is treated like a pebble, will in time lose its sparkle.
That a pebble, when treated like a gem will be a treasure.

What else…

I celebrated my birthday! Welcome to the late 20’s!!!

Image hosted by Webshots.comWhile metaphorically wailing on my birthday - that I had to go to office, that I had deadlines, that nothing special happened yet; I received a bouquet of flowers. It was from my sister in Singapore. How sweet! It was such a fuss in office that even our CEO took a peek on the box.

Note: Birthdays happen once a year, so never ever let that chance to make that day special for that person. Let them feel you are so blessed they were born.

I received an early birthday card from my Sister and his hubby in US. I also received a LOT of greetings via internet; even from those people I least expected to have remembered my day. It felt good. :)

I also received a Pooh Bear stuffed toy from some officemates. Hahaha. I was happy and touched they gave me a gift, but at the same time bewildered that they chose Pooh!

I hate Pooh. I don’t know how to translate this in English but Pooh is a “haliparot na bading” for me. He has no underpants, has a tiny shirt showing his belly, his name is Winnie but has a voice so low that it sounds more like a Bruno. I know a lot of people love Pooh but sorry, am really not one of them. Anyhow, Pooh is now in my house. Loved by my niece.

Image hosted by Webshots.comLast but not the least; I received a pair of Pink Chuck Taylor sneakers from my boyfriend. I think I started planning to buy this since more than a year back. I almost bought it this November as a gift for myself. So that’s why he’s been discouraging me from buying it. It was thoughtful of him to have chosen that gift. I love it.

There is a superstition that it is bad luck to give shoes; so to undo this bad luck, you must give any amount of money as swap for that shoe. In conclusion, I “bought” a new pair of pink chucks for PHP3.75. Ang mahal! Hehehe.

I celebrated my birthday on the last day of November. Surprisingly, those people who I just invited over an SMS message (and not those I emailed invitations to) were able to go. All of them are my friends since college - the same crowd that celebrated with me one year back. Three bottles of beer, plus a lot of sweet phone calls was enough to give me a peaceful sleep.

If I were to describe November, it would be an abstract painting. It will never have a frozen picture.

Let Me Tell You Something About the Ocean

They say there is calm before the storm…

How liberating it is to be in the calm while floating on the vast ocean waters.
How lovely is it to be sun-burned while trying to see as far in the horizon as possible.
How thirsty one can get while waiting in the heat.
How blindingly bright is the sunlight and how peacefully solemn are the stars in the night.

Then the storm…

How devastating was it to be thrown here and there by the destructive waves, not knowing which direction you’ll end up.
How surprisingly striking it is to see the clouds form and temporarily cover the sun’s rays.
How gray did the sky become; when you were used to seeing it colored peaceful blue.
How unbearable are the cold stormy nights when there were no stars to be counted to help you fall asleep.

After the storm…

Somehow, it caused one to stay out of the ocean…
… and start wading on the river; for now.

The river had no waves but it had clearer, unsalted, fresh water.
The horizon is not as big as the ocean but you get used to the details of the more intimate view.
The sun is as bright but not burning.

The river. Not the ocean, at least for now.

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
All rivers lead towards the ocean anyway, right?

My Superstitions

Here are some superstitions I couldn't help but follow:
  • It is bad luck to cut your fingernails on Fridays. So I only do it during Sundays, just to be safe.
  • If you had a dream about someone else, make sure you let them know about your dream as soon as possible because it may be a sign or a warning or a good luck to them.
  • Connected to above superstition... dreams are like premonitions except that it will not come true if you tell it to someone else. If you keep it to yourself, it will happen for sure.
  • When crossing a railroad (while inside a vehicle); make sure to touch something blue and make sure your feet are not touching the 'ground' while you make a wish.
  • You can make a wish everytime your digital clock shows the same digit as time (e.g. 2:22 PM; 11:11AM; 3:33 PM).
  • After seeing a "bayawak" (what is bayawak in English? Iguana? Big/medium Lizard? hehe); make sure to spit three times to counterspell the bad luck it could bring to you or your family.
  • Pretending to cry will cause something bad to happen to your mother.
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
These superstitions were just influenced by different people and started at different times of my life as well.

Quarter Life Crisis

I never believed in quarter life crisis… I only knew about the term back in college.
I think I need to start believing now as it seems I am in this phase (right on time! @ 25!).
Here are my symptoms:

*** I am beginning to question: What is the purpose of life?
*** I am confused if I am young or I am old (is the glass half full or half empty)?
*** I want to know where I wanna be in 5 more years.
*** I feel I lack accomplishments for my age.
*** I feel tired of working.
*** I sometimes wanna talk and talk and talk; just so I can analyze and interpret everything.
*** I compare myself to people I know of my age.
*** I start to analyze my career and where it is going.
*** I start to think about the parallel universe.
*** I wanna reinvent my life, myself and my stuff.
*** I start to ponder on the word 'independence.'
*** I begin to wonder why I am not born rich.
*** I begin to realize the value of being happy and the value of living in the reality.
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
What i dont know is: How long does this phase usually take? I hope it goes away soon.

Pong Pagong

He has got to be my all time favorite character!
~~~ He loves to eat kangkong (what’s kangkong in English?)
~~~ He sometimes can’t sleep at night because his body is tired but his eyes were wide awake.

~~~ He loves to say “weeeeeeeeeee!!!” in a very high tone when he is happy.
~~~ He accidentally swallowed a fruit seed (what is santol in English?!); and got really worried it might grow from inside him.

~~~ His best friend is Kiko Matsing.
~~~
He has the cutest cheeks.

~~~
His hands are awkwardly short that he has a time reaching for things.
~~~ Pong, together with Kiko Matsing, Ate Siena, and Kuya Bodjie, visited our school when I was in grade 3 (I think it was grade 3). It was the school’s foundation day and coincidentally was also my birthday! I got to have a picture taken with Pong and Kiko, but somehow, I can’t find it anymore… : (

~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
Back then, I have always wondered how Big Bird and Pong Pagong would get along or if they ever would.

Blog Blanked

I have been thinking, there’s so much happening in my life lately…so how come I have not made any single post in my blog for more than a month?

Was it because there’s so much happening that my articles would be considered “obsolete” right after I publish it?

Or could it be because much of what is happening to me can’t be an article yet since they are all in progress and technically has no ending yet?

Or (this one I am leaning most on) could it be because, I am getting bored with how my blogsite looks like?

Yeah, I guess it’s more on the third one. I want to change how my blog looks like. But have no idea where to begin. I wanna change the background but have no idea which background to put. I want more colors in it, but at the same time want more whites. I want a different font, I want a different format, I want a different video, I want, I want, I want... blah blah blah.

High Tech!

My officemate mentioned that he always keeps a copy of his reimbursement forms through photocopying it and making the photocopying machine send it to his email.

My reaction was… Huh?! It can do that?!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
For someone who has been living in a first world country for a few months now… it hit me… there’s so many out of this world innovations now that I can’t seem to comprehend anymore. Is this a sign I am getting old?

>>> I tried out the photocopying machine myself and managed to send a document to my email address. It will scan your document and you can even choose which format you want it to produce (PDF, JPG, etc). High Tech! Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

>>> We have a mini-LRT here, a remote-controlled one. Aside from that; it auto-frosts (tints) its glass windows and doors when it comes too close to any condominium/buildings. This was designed to protect the privacy of the building occupants. How does it do it? I have no idea.

>>> Public comfort rooms here have two types of cubicles (I can only speak for the Ladies Room): a Malaysian inspired and the normal one. The Malaysian inspired is sort of a toilet bowl dug into the ground. Ano’ng high tech dun?! Even though it’s a floor toilet, and no matter how dirty the public toilet is… even in the marketplace… the flush are all automated via laser sensors. Hehehe. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

>>> The keys to our condominium gates are not keys but are actually keychains with sensors. You just put it near the sensor plate and the gates are unlocked. When you reach the elevator, you let the elevator “sense” that “key” and it will already know which building unit it should drop you off. Talk about customizing!

>>> We share the office floor with the MTV Asia office/studio. What’s weird is, we all need to enter a 4 digit pass code then press the enter button before we can go in the Comfort Room. We also need to press the “Open Door” button before we can go out of it. Just below that is the “Emergency Door Open” button inside a retractable plastic case. Talk about comfort plus security!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
>>> Singapore has an EZ Link card which is actually the main transportation fare card. You can just reload and reload and reload. You can also use it to buy stuff from shops, works like a debit card too. Aside from that, you can also have your actual credit card combined into that EZ link card so that all your bus/train/taxi fares are automatically debited to your credit card. Someday, people will forget there are such things called “cash.”
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
>>> My office desk requires two flat screen monitors (4 for others) to do your tasks more efficiently. We also have a phonebook page where you see all the contact info. You just click on the phone icon and your desk phone will automatically call up that person in speakerphone. You can also send SMS messages to their cellphones through that phonebook.

EXTREME

I just realized that as of now, my life can be summarized by one word –

EXTREME

~~~ Feeling: Heaven or Hell
~~~ Outlook: Positive or Negative
~~~ Plans: Excited or Blah
~~~ Food: Starving or Gluttonous
~~~ Decisions: 100% Sure or Unaware
~~~ Time: Late or Early
~~~ Work: Tons or None
I think I have come past the “gray” mode, I am definitely “black or white, nothing in between” type of person now. I wonder if this is a good sign though…
May I Quote You on That?
I received a lot of journal notebooks for my 18th birthday. A few days after that, December 5, 1998 to be exact; I decided to pick from one of them and start my very own "journal."
Well it's not really an actual journal or a diary, but is more of my collection of quotes and distinctive (mostly ironic) thoughts in mind.
Most of the quotes come from forwarded text messages; but it can actually come from anywhere, anyone, anytime. My favorites have got to be the ones that I got accidentally - those which fit with my "double-meaningness." Quotes like:
"Buckle up, Heaven can wait." - Subic Highway Signage
"Dalawa ang mata ng tao pero sa isa lang nakatingin" - From Dylan, a friend from college
"The moon and the star may never be one, but they will always share the same sky."
"Relax, don't near." - Jeepney Sign
"When you want something, all the world conspires in helping you to achieve it." - The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho
I browsed through it tonight. Almost 9 years of collecting thoughts, what does this made me realize?
~ I need to write more often, it has been years and I still haven't filled out the entire notebook.
~ I had a lot to write during 1999, whn text messaging is still free.
~ My hand writing never changes.
~ I still prefer red ink.
~ My serious thoughts are usually in english.
~ I love one liners.
~ I am almost always optimistic about life.
My Precious... (in Gollum's intonation)
"I'm such a charitable institution..."
That's what my sister said after a 3-hour gadgets shopping last weekend.
And why won't she consider herself a charitable institution if in less than 3 hours we were able to buy these:
1. Laptop with so many freebies: Webcam, speaker, RAM upgrade, optical mouse, headset, bag.
2. A 2 yr celphone plan with free celphone unit (though this one is c/o my Company). Nothing fancy about this phone, but what the heck, IT"S FREE! I can just trade it off for something better when I already know which unit I like.
I made her do all the talking (all that asking and bargaining) with the salesmen since I am still having a hard time grasping their accent. We've also proven her charm is better than mine in terms of buying stuff -especially when those 'stuff' is not for her. Hehehe.
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
All these happened without a single dollar out of our pocket... Hehehe. Thanks to my sister's credit foundation. Hahaha.
Squatter
12 days in Singapore so far...
I have been sharing a room with my sister since I moved here. Of course, being a squatter isn't easy:
- I sleep on an inflatable bed - quite comfy though with a thick comforter.
- I share the bathroom with her - this is no problem except that for this first few weeks we have the same office time so I would have to wait for her to finish with the bathroom before I can start preparing for work as well.
- I do not have a closet. I still have my things all over the place: inside my Vacuum Plastic bag, some on the couch, and some in my
suitcase. I even have an old plastic bag serve as a laundry bag hehehe.
- I do not have my own laptop. I have been hoarding my sister's laptop for almost two weeks now. Good thing my sister is soooo nice (hehehe) she offered to use her credit card so I can buy my own laptop ASAP; and so she can have her online life back hehe!
- I don't have my own slippers. I forgot to bring a pair so I am using her spare slippers which doesnt even fit my little feet hahaha. I've been looking around the mall but still haven't found or bought an 'official' pair.
- I am hungry. As mentioned on my previous article, my sister is on a Starvation Diet Program so she's not eating breakfast, merienda nor dinner. I won't eat unless I have someone with me. Aside from that, I haven't even unpacked, all the more have I gone grocery shopping! Therefore, I am also in a Temporary Starvation Diet Program as well.
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
But... tomorrow... everything is going to change...
There will be a 're-org' in the house, two housemates will leave and a new one and me will replace them. Which means, I get to have my own room!
I therefore conclude.. today will be my last day as a SQUATTER!!! Hehehe...
First Week of May
I had nothing planned for this weekend but to buy some necessities (like groceries). Good thing Nani and Wow invited me to watch Mi3. My first movie here in Sg.
What about the movie? Hmm, the movie was good. I don't want to give a movie review here, except that it made my heart beat extra fast the whole time. Oh! And don't forget... someone died - and that they all keep dying for that one little "Rabbit's Foot."
What else? Hmm...
A friend told me that I work at the same building where MTV office is; and that they see VJ Utt oftenly in that same building where I work...
VJ Utt?!??! Crush ko yun eh!!!
Haven't seen him though. Haven't seen anyone interesting actually. Just same old routine everyday...
Wake up, take a bath, dress up, then rush to the train everyday. I try to break that routine by trying out different train routes going home. Hoping to find the best (fastest) and most convenient route.
My sister has been on a diet for a decade (hehehe, peace sister!!!), she doesnt eat breakfast nor dinner. So I unwillingly do that too (also beacause of my lack of urge to cook), maybe by the end of this month I may have lost 20 pounds already! Hehehe.
This is my first week here so far... still adjusting... still trying to cope up with the changes...
Blessed and Cursed
I am blessed for this new life but cursed for missing the old one sometimes.
I am blessed for this opportunity but cursed for the sacrifices in exchange.
I am blessed for the chance to meet new friends but cursed for not seeing the existing ones.
I am blessed because I have faith but cursed for once a in a while I still feel weak.
I am blessed for the independence but cursed for feeling incomplete.
I am blessed that time is moving but cursed for it moves slowly.
Tidbits...
~~~ Went to UP Fair with my officemates (Eraserfest – Feb 17), we stayed until around 2:30 AM and decided to leave Sunken Garden when all of us looked drained and half-asleep (especially me who attended a hiphop dance class before going there). I think we got extra tired because the place was overcrowded. Anyhow, we went to buy some drinks and went to our house to drink, watch tv and sleep til early morning.

~~~ Apparently, a security guard from our building passed around some gossip about me having a boyfriend here in office (Sounds familiar! Nothing new about these types of gossips).
~~~ I passed the MCP Exam last March 6! (MCP = Microsoft Certified Professional) It’s an exam for the label ‘MCP’ for a specific Microsoft Programming Language. Two days of locking myself in my room resulted positive: I got a score of 908 out of 1000 points.
~~~ I am waiting for some sort of sign whether or not to take a ‘change’ in my life. I still am waiting for God’s sign though coz honestly, I am still half-hearted about it (I’d share more details about this soon).
Roses, Chocolates and a Card
I was kind of irritated seeing so many people carrying bouquets of flowers on my way to office (you know how I am such a sucker for flowers!!!). I was kind of wondering what if I will see something on my desk (has not experienced surprises on my work desk before) and as soon as I arrived at my workspace, I did notice something… a card and a pack of chocolates. It was from one of my closest guy officemates.
From that time on, I knew it was a good day after all.
Image hosting by Photobucket Later that afternoon, while we were expecting a merienda treat from the February bday celebrators in office, the unexpected happened –
All the guys lined up and “serenaded” all the girls from the team. Their acoustic renditions of some love songs (Love Always Finds a Way, Beautiful Girl, etc) was enough to consider them sweet and very very thoughtful indeed. But they didn’t stop there – each one of the guys went over to a girl and gave her a flower.
One of my best buds in office gave me his rose, we took a picture and then the process continued until everyone is done.
It was indeed a very good day.
When I went back to my desk, I received an email from another guy officemate whom I haven't met personally, greeting me a Happy Heart’s Day. I thought it was sent wrongly but later confirmed it wasn’t and it was really for me. And that is how I met a new friend on Valentine’s Day.
Still a good day.
Another friend – upon realizing I had no date for the day – gave me free tickets to the premier of Aeon Flux (which by the way is an okay movie). So for the night, I had another single girl friend (my “baby sis”) for a date to a free movie.
Night is good so far.
My parents told me to go home early that night since they knew I hadn’t a date, but still, 10 PM, when I reached home, went to my room and discovered a cute bouquet of roses by my bed. It was from my brother… Aawwww. How sweet.
: )
I felt that that day was complete. With real friends, and your family with you, any day will be special. : )
Valentine’s Day is DEFINITELY for everyone!
P.S.
The next day, all the girls from the team gave pastries in heart boxes to the guys in exchange for their thoughfulness on Valentine’s day.
Secret
It’s a secret how I manage to seem confused when I really am sure of which one I would choose, the real question however is when will I be given the opportunity to make the choice. My choice – secret.
It’s a secret what I did in my 9 day long vacation. Well, at least (not all) my office mates know. This is what happens when you get all tangled up with office rumors and you just end up wanting to disappear for a while just to give yourself some space.
It’s a secret - my true feelings most of the time. I get kind of too cautious with trusting people nowadays. There’s a very thin line between real friends and “dynamite fishers.” Better be sure than sorry.
Hibernation Complete!
Hey hey hey hey! I AM BACK!!!
Well, I’ve wanted to post since November 2005 but haven’t really got the urge to do so.
Since I have been gone for quite some time, why don’t I just give you a summary of how life’s been for me since?
November 2005:
~ I experienced enlightenment. Sometimes I tend to forget that if some people are just making me feel more of trash, then why not just dispose them instead? I did.
~ Celebrated my birthday! I had a celebration with my officemates, my family, my high school friends and my college friends – separately. I had a really weird happy feeling during that week long celebration but later on realized why it felt odd – I felt deep down special again.
: )
~ Just out of nowhere, old /long lost friends start to pop up and rekindle the good old times.
December 2005:
~ Celebrated Christmas in province. I missed my cousins!!! We drank the Christmas Eve away until we had to stop because of some ghost encounter. Hehehe.
~ Christmas morning, my cousin accepted the challenge of curling my hair and she succeeded. When I went back to the city, the first thing I bought was a curling iron. Now, 3 times a week, I have curly hair. Love it!
~ Attended HighSchool class reunion! How I missed those people!
~ Went to Singapore to tour and bond with my sister (who’s working there). 11 stress free days of vacation! ~ What an adventure! Had lots of fun – this is probably an understatement. Got to experience how it is living independently, I even had guts to go on an adventure to Singapore Chinatown alone.
~ I had a pretty good idea who missed me while I was gone. Wink wink wink.
January 2006:
~ From Singapore, my sister with her friends spent New Year’s Eve at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia alongside the Petronas Towers. It was quite an adventure having to meet hundreds of Malay punks and some of them stole our friend’s wallet and cellphone. Nevertheless, the adventure was still memorable. I won’t go back to KL though. Hehe.
~ Started the new year right. Fresh from vacation, I went to work and suddenly - life continued. Reality bites! But it’s okay, I still love reality.
~ I am still trying to organize my financial existence. I want to get ready for some nearing expenses just around the corner.
