It’s 6:15 AM – and guess what, I am already facing my computer – IN OFFICE!
Woke up at 5:15AM (thanks also to my officemate for double checking that I did wake up hehehe), took a shower and left home 5:45 AM. Since I rode a cab that early, my usual 1.5 hour long ride was cut short to the rush-hour free 20 minute dash.
Unlike any ordinary day, the building security was still not checking bags and do not even care about people coming in or out the premises.
Unlike an ordinary day, I arrived earlier than our office security guard. The usual “Good morning Ma’am” became “Good morning po!” while in a shocked face because he was still in his civilian uniform when he saw me.
Unlike an ordinary morning, the office door was still locked and a guard had to open it up for me. I AM THE FIRST PERSON IN OFFICE. Well, not literally, I am the first employee in office.
The facilities staff is still mopping the floors, the aircond is still ‘warming up’ (what an ironic statement), and it feels more of a hot, humid, vacuum work area at this very moment.
They are also setting up for a morning event at 8AM, where everyone will get free breakfast from Mcdonalds. They are sound checking, network checking, cleaning, while some jazz music is playing in the background (Huh? Jazz music? Yeah, I guess the ‘facility man’ is more musically cultured than most people) –
Jazz music, this was soothing – especially for someone like me who only had a few hours sleep last night.
Soothing… Relaxing… Zzzzz…
