From Betty La Fea to Ugly Betty

Going back to 2002, I remember having my thesis deliberation scheduled for the afternoon, and what were me and my thesis mates doing during that morning?

Watching Betty La Fea of course! :)

I was quite cynical when Ugly Betty (the American version of Betty La Fea) came out. Of course, I have loyalty with Betty La Fea. Hehehe.

Thanks to my friend Rigel for not only introducing me to Ugly Betty but giving me copies of the whole season as well (together with House Season 3, Heroes and a lot of MP3s). After watching the first 5 minutes of episode one, I already understood why such a simple comedy series can receive numerous awards already. A few more minutes watching it and I knew I would definitely be hooked.

You’ll fall in love with all the characters. Each character has so much personality in them but at the same time you can’t help but relate them to someone you really know.

My favorite female character is Amanda – she’s the blonde, foxy, dumb office receptionist who becomes more of a deep and smart character as the episodes come along. And the best part of her character is that she’s such a wicked bitch - in a very cute way.

My favorite male character is Henry – he’s the nerd, office accountant whose favorite line is “that’s just something I know” after saying some witty bit of a trivia about anything. We have to give credit to the actor Christopher Gorham (you are my new Adam Brody!!!); Quoting from a popwatch article:
“he's the rare find who can smile at a girl for knowing the circumference of the earth and make it believable -- and sexy!”

A few more months to wait until Season 2 comes out. I miss watching it that I tend to just repeat my favorite episodes/scenes. I am pathetic. Hahaha!
