What happened in November... stays in November (yeah right)!
Some drama scenes I thought would only happen in TV has happened to me... and it was not pretty!
I had to realize there really are CRAZY people in the world and as much as you have been such an Angel your whole life, sometimes, even if you don't deserve it... you end up being their victim. When this happens, internalize that you should always keep the lessons learned out of any situation: may it be good or bad. Then move on with your smile.
Just when you think you are walking on meadows, you bump into shit. And then again, what do you do? Clean up that shit, and then continue walking (well maybe you can swear once or twice about your misfortune, before continuing with you walk, that’s okay too). Anyhow, don't forget to "take time to smell the flowers" along the way. It will make you feel better.
Never forget that imperfections make people invaluable.
That when a gem is treated like a pebble, will in time lose its sparkle.
That a pebble, when treated like a gem will be a treasure.
What else…
I celebrated my birthday! Welcome to the late 20’s!!!
While metaphorically wailing on my birthday - that I had to go to office, that I had deadlines, that nothing special happened yet; I received a bouquet of flowers. It was from my sister in Singapore. How sweet! It was such a fuss in office that even our CEO took a peek on the box.
Note: Birthdays happen once a year, so never ever let that chance to make that day special for that person. Let them feel you are so blessed they were born.
I received an early birthday card from my Sister and his hubby in US. I also received a LOT of greetings via internet; even from those people I least expected to have remembered my day. It felt good. :)
I also received a Pooh Bear stuffed toy from some officemates. Hahaha. I was happy and touched they gave me a gift, but at the same time bewildered that they chose Pooh!
I hate Pooh. I don’t know how to translate this in English but Pooh is a “haliparot na bading” for me. He has no underpants, has a tiny shirt showing his belly, his name is Winnie but has a voice so low that it sounds more like a Bruno. I know a lot of people love Pooh but sorry, am really not one of them. Anyhow, Pooh is now in my house. Loved by my niece.
Last but not the least; I received a pair of Pink Chuck Taylor sneakers from my boyfriend. I think I started planning to buy this since more than a year back. I almost bought it this November as a gift for myself. So that’s why he’s been discouraging me from buying it. It was thoughtful of him to have chosen that gift. I love it.
There is a superstition that it is bad luck to give shoes; so to undo this bad luck, you must give any amount of money as swap for that shoe. In conclusion, I “bought” a new pair of pink chucks for PHP3.75. Ang mahal! Hehehe.
I celebrated my birthday on the last day of November. Surprisingly, those people who I just invited over an SMS message (and not those I emailed invitations to) were able to go. All of them are my friends since college - the same crowd that celebrated with me one year back. Three bottles of beer, plus a lot of sweet phone calls was enough to give me a peaceful sleep.
If I were to describe November, it would be an abstract painting. It will never have a frozen picture.
