I just went to mass and talked to God. Since I felt I was at the lowest point, we agreed there’s no way to go but up!
April 2, 2007: Holy Monday
Another ho-hum day.
April 3, 2007: Holy Tuesday
My “cuzin” Kuya Jay came from province to visit his fiancé Jack. He then called an ‘urgent cuzins get together.’
We (cuzin Aldrin, bro Royan, Andrea, Jack, Kuya Jay) ended up drinking beer (water for me) from 10:30 PM to around 1 AM.
April 4, 2007: Holy Wednesday
Not a good morning to me having discovered bad news which relates to deception, nevertheless, I had no choice but prepare myself to be the ‘witty professional’ for an important job interview in the afternoon.
Being a zombie the past week (being a homebody means having much sleep… way too much sleep that I am having a difficult time sleeping at night), and having been up late with my cuzins the previous night, I wasn’t really in my top aura this day.
However, my cuzin Kuya Jay, is making the most out of his visit here that again, he insisted we get together that night. We (cuzin Aldrin and special friend Normee, bro Royan, Andrea, bro’s friend Vince, Jack and Kuya Jay) again ended up with a drinking spree in our house attic.
Two bottles of beer for me (plus a lot of liempo, Pringles, pizza) and good night… Zzzzz…
I have no idea what time they finished drinking.
April 5, 2007: Maundy Thursday
My cuzins Aldrin and Kuya Jay convinced me to go with them to province and spend Holy week there. I needed a lot of peace and tranquility, they needed a ride to the province, and therefore…I provided the car, they drove. Aldrin’s dad went with us as well.
That night, Aldrin and Ayeen brought me to the only ‘hang out’ place in town, it’s a grill restaurant similar to Gerry’s grill. It was a nice place. Cozy and simple. I just had coke and a lot of chicken sisig. Yum!
April 6, 2007: Good Friday
The whole point of spending holy week in province is to have some peace and quiet; but there is such a thin line between peace and quiet with BOREDOM! I definitely reached beyond the borderline, we were definitely bored!
My other cuzin Len got a few days off from her hectic nurse world, she was also in province Friday afternoon. My cuzin Ayeen’s boyfriend Jason visited her that night together with 3 other friends.
Two bottles of beer for me (and a lot of lechong manok, inihaw na tilapia, spicy peanuts) and good night… Zzzz.z…
Again, I have no idea what time they finished drinking.
April 7, 2007: Black Saturday
Eat, sleep, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, sleep, eat, drink, sleep. The cycle continues.
Kuya Jay and Aldrin were so busy doing the “man stuff” – cleaning the cars, fixing their scooters, cutting down old tree branches (where they killed several bird eggs, we were also able to rescue 5 baby birds), anyway, the three girls (Me, Ayeen and Len) had nothing to do! Nothing at all!
The three of us decided to drive around the nearby campus – Central Luzon State University. It was my first time to drive in the highway. Woopee!
We saw a huge field full of sunflowers but they were already wilting…too bad! Thanks to Ayeen’s boyfriend, we were able to locate another smaller field full of sunflowers abloom, but by the time we were there, it was already getting dark, therefore, the flowers were asleep. We’ll just go back the next morning for the photo opp!
That night, my cousins and their friends brought me to have coffee at their ‘Starbucks’ counterpart, 30 minutes drive from our town.
April 8, 2007: Easter Sunday
Early morning, I woke up and prepared for the sunflowers pictorial! Hehehe.
We girls drove around the university, had pictures taken on the serene areas.
Then with the sun going hotter, we started to crave for fastfood…which was 15 more minutes away, so we drove some more.
The first choice was Jollibee but it was too crowded. Chowking was 3 more minutes walk, thus, we ended up with Greenwich. We had pizza. Yum yum yum. I missed fastfood!
This is torture… very fattening torture! Ayeen and me, out of guilt, decided to try burn some calories, we decided to walk around the compound ten times under the burning noon sun. By the time it was time to eat lunch; we were only able to complete 8 rounds (we got distracted on the 2nd round because I had to pick mangoes to bring to Manila. It was so much challenging fun picking those mangoes. Gotta love the sungkit! Hehehe), but we were able to perspire a lot so I guess it was okay.
That late afternoon, we drove back to Manila (the same gang except for Kuya Jay which was replaced by Len).
Whew! Peace and quiet almost made me crazy, but it did gain me much needed relaxation, unfortunately, it also gained me 10 pounds at the least. Hehehe.
